Is LuminEd free for supply teachers and TAs?
LuminEd is free to join for supply teachers and TAs who have a valid DBS certificate on the DBS Update Service. If you are not on the Update Service, a DBS check will be needed before your profile can go live, and this will incur a charge.
How does LuminEd differ from a supply agency?
With LuminEd, schools contact you directly. There's no agency taking a percentage of your day rate. You set your own rate, control your availability, and accept or decline work on your own terms.
What documents do I need to register?
You'll need to upload a valid DBS certificate, proof of identity, and evidence of your right to work in the UK. You can also upload qualifications and references.
How long does verification take?
LuminEd aims to verify candidate documents within 3-5 working days. Once verified, your profile goes live and becomes visible to schools.
Can I pause my account if I’m not available for work?
Yes. You can pause your account at any time, which hides your profile from schools without deleting any of your information. Reactivate whenever you’re ready.
